The 2025 Lexus RX continues the fifth generation of the popular luxury SUV, which was fully redesigned in 2023. As a result, the 2025 model year brings a few key updates rather than a complete overhaul.
 
Key Changes and New Features
 
New Trims and Special Edition: The 2025 RX adds new F SPORT trims and a special edition.
F SPORT Design: This new package is available on the RX 350 and RX 350h. It features distinct F SPORT exterior styling elements like a unique grille and bumpers, along with 21-inch alloy wheels.
Black Line Special Edition: The RX 500h F SPORT Performance model receives a Black Line Special Edition. This limited-run variant (only 500 are for sale) comes with a special Incognito gray exterior, black exterior trim, black 21-inch wheels, and orange brake calipers.
Standard Digital Instrument Cluster: A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel display is now standard across the entire RX lineup.
Minor Refinements: Lexus has made some small but notable improvements, including:
Optimizing suspension damping for better handling.
Adding acoustic glass to the rear doors and more sound-absorbing materials to reduce cabin noise.
Making the front storage tray illumination standard.
 
Powertrain Options
 
The 2025 Lexus RX retains its diverse range of powertrain options:
RX 350: The standard model is powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-four engine producing 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. It's available with either Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
RX 350h: This hybrid model combines a 2.5-liter inline-four engine with electric motors for a total of 246 horsepower. It comes standard with AWD and is praised for its fuel efficiency.
RX 450h+: This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a larger battery pack, delivering 304 horsepower. It offers an EPA-estimated 37 miles of all-electric range before switching to hybrid mode.
RX 500h F SPORT Performance: The most powerful RX, this model features a turbocharged 2.4-liter hybrid system with two electric motors, generating a combined 366 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system and a sport-tuned suspension.
